Not to be biased, but Altrincham is a pretty great town to live in. In 2017 however, a huge number of amazing events and activities took place that really brought the community together and made Altrincham a go-to destination of the north.
We want to take a look back at some our favourite events that solidified 2017 as one of Altrincham’s best years yet!
Earlier this year, Hidden Altrincham came to our town with a wonderful mission of showcasing the talents of local and international artists in one of the most widely celebrated art events in the North West.
As huge supporters of both Altrincham and the arts, we were honoured to sponsor the two week event. Our Altair branding could be spotted throughout the event, and it was a great way for us to truly join the amazing Altrincham community.
The event saw 50 hand-picked artists exhibiting their creative trail-blazing work, with an aim to link art and ideas with the spaces, people and businesses within Altrincham. We absolutely loved the event, and we hope you all did too!
Altrincham in Bloom
Throughout the summer months of 2017, Altrincham in Bloom was widely celebrated across Altrincham. Why? Because they made our town look absolutely stunning.
Made up of a group of volunteers, Altrincham in Bloom spent months planting seeds and flowers throughout the town to make it a sight for the sorest of eyes – and the results speak for themselves!
Altrincham secured a prestigious Silver Gilt in the finals of the RHS Britain In Bloom competition – a national competition that celebrates the best, and most beautiful florally-focused towns in the UK. What an achievement!
Altrincham food and drink festival
Yes, a food and drink festival – Altrincham really knows what its residents want! The two-day festival celebrated its inaugural year this year and it was a huge success. Centred around our town’s award-winning Altrincham Market, the event showcased the best of the area’s food, drink and music scene.
The music stages around the market ran throughout the day with DJ sets from BBC 6music star Mary-Ann Hobbs, Inspiral Carpets’ Clint Boon, The Smiths’ Mike Joyce and Hacienda legend Dave Haslam.
The event, named Alt.HarFest, was a totally free event for anyone who wished to come down and celebrate Altrincham’s stunning local food and drink offering, with fundraisers throughout the day to raise money for Warrington’s Brainwave and Didsbury’s Reverse Rett.
The beginning of a brand new lifestyle quarter – Altair
This is our blog, so we’re allowed to put this in; we’re very excited and privileged to have progressed towards making Altrincham’s newest lifestyle quarter, Altair, a reality.
Altair offers a stunning new place to call home. 144 high quality apartments will be built in Phase One and Two, along with smart new office accommodation and a plethora of high quality restaurants and cafes bringing chic and sophisticated city centre living to the heart of Altrincham town centre.
Our one and two bedroom apartments are spacious and the luxurious penthouses just speak for themselves – there is a home for all buyers with an appreciation for quality and innovative architecture and design.
We can’t wait to officially break the ground in 2018 – which we think, will be the year of Altair!
